Google My Business Categories
There are 100s of Google My Business (now called Google Business Profile) categories to choose from, and a lot of them can seem a bit vague. In fact, there are over 4,000 categories, and Google doesn’t exactly provide any help on choosing what is best. Google My Business categories help your profile show for relevant searches in Google Maps and Local 3-Pack and help potential customers find local businesses when performing localized searches. When creating a Google My Business Listing, one of the first steps is to choose a business category. This consists of setting 1 primary category and up to 9 additional business categories. This Google My Business category list is sorted alphabetically. If you have trouble finding a category that best describes your business, try using a broader category.

If your business does not have a website, I strongly recommend creating a local SEO landing page one as part of your search engine optimization strategy. Doing so will improve your chances of ranking, and help build backlinks from your Google Business Profile to your website.
